yup.. supercell thunderstorms are (were, actually, since they happen more often recently) so uncommon that people just didnt know what they were looking at.. "oh a thunderstorm, maybe a multicell complex.." nope.. this is clearly a supercell.. alot of european supercell footage is very frequently filmed underneath the most dangerous parts of a supercell (the bears cage, RFD near the updraft, filming during core punching the storm, VERY close to tornado's, etc) because most of us simply can't recognize if a thunderstorm is a supercell or not.

Ik herinner me dat bij ons in Zutendaal plotseling de straat verlichting werd opgstart eerst snapte ik niet waarom maar tot ik vanuit Bilzen een zwarte wolk zag komen met groene lucht daarvan achter het werd op een gegeven moment zo donker dat het wel nacht leekt bij ons ook een tent weg gewaaid met schade aan het tuinhuis tot gevolg ik denk dat dit de engste storm wat ik ooit heb meegemaakt

Vanaf 3:33 zie je dat er iets op komst is de wind steek daar harder op die vlaggen hangen bijna vlak en in zekere zin is het nog steeds eng dat de storm zelf zo lang uitgebleven is bijna onnatuurlijk

Hi! i remember that case as a hobby meteorologist in 2011... now as a professional meteorologist in a national institute i resume, that the Situation could have been solved more rational. It was not like a single thundestorm it was a huge Cluster arriving, and usually every greater festival has its own on-demand meteorlogist. It was no doubt, that this huge Mesocyclonal System (MCS) will afect the whole region... of course its pretty difficult in Nowcasting, to forecast exact e.g. wind gusts. But the set-up was extremely severe this day, so the worst-case scenario was pre-set

These people were VERY lucky that there were no lightning strikes during this storm - if this tent had been hit, hundreds of people could've been injured or killed, packed in tightly this way.

I think the first guy knew what was coming, why would you else film the sky?

ik wil niet veel zeggen uit alle respect naar pukkelpop toe, maar wij hadden gisteren ook noodweer op pinkpop daar werd de hele dag het weer in de gaten gehouden om de 2 uur als het zo warm is en zeker achter elkaar dan kan je dit verwachten,ons werd netjes verteld wat we wel en niet moesten doen, dat we ons samen moesten pakken op het veld . de tent werd gesloten en het programma wat gelukkig de afsluiter was, ging pas na het noodweer optreden. kort om als pukkelpop eenigs sinds op buienrader hebben gekeken was een groot deel voorkomen geweest ;) zoals niet onder een tent staan niet bij ijzere opstakels staan ect... bij ons zijn geen gewonden gevallen dor het snelle oprteden van de organisatie . uit alle respect voor de nabestaande van de slachtoffers en de slachtoffers zelf

ik hou van onweer maar steeds als ik dit filmpje zie vergeet ik wat voor een kracht zulk zwaar onweer kan hebben. de bliksem en de storm is mooi en spectaculair maar de gevolgen zijn minder. 1 jaar geleden vroeg ik me af hoe het kwam dat niemand in de gaten had dat het heftig onweerde maar nu denk ik hoe konden de mensen anders.

Het was rond 6 uur ongeveer gebeurd dacht ik.

Juist, want waar precies noodweer zal plaatsvinden is zo gemakkelijk te voorspellen, je weet altijd waar en wanneer het zal gebeuren en hoe erg het zal zijn, hé?
